In Sunday School

Often called Christian Education, the Sunday school hour is a significant part of our life together at Lorraine Avenue and there are Sunday school classes for adults as well as for the children.

While the worship hour can be educational, its primary focus is the corporate act of worshiping God. Sunday school is the time for “unpacking” biblical/theological issues, exchanging questions, engaging in friendly and healthy debate about ways to put our faith in action, how our faith impacts our daily life decisions, both individually and corporately. Some of the best conversations happen during our Sunday School classes for children, youth, and adults.

The children (age 2 and up) use the denominational curriculum, “Shine” to learn the Bible stories through listening, playing, and singing together. Our Middle school and High school aged boys learn about Christian peace-making through “gaming” using specific internet games.
